Wow. Sorry for not blogging for so long, but I have been occupied with well...life. ._. Sorrrrry again.

The things I mentioned before are still creating stress for me. Siiigh. Sometimes I wonder if life would be easier if I wasn't in Middle Years/Synergy. Then I trace down my main sources of homework: Science and Math.

Science - Unavoidable. Most teachers give the same amount.

Math - Unavoidable. Definiiitely unavoidable.

So in the end, I guess it would be the same for me. T_T. Grr. I miss elementary school.

Anyways, I've mostly been working on homework the past few days. Not very exciting, huh.

I can't wait until after this stress period is over. It's totally horrible.

Cat Street

Cat Street is possibly one of the most well put together mangas out there. It starts off with a weak and clumsy character that develops to become one of the strongest characters of all manga.

The procession is slow. If you're a fast reader who wants action immediately and romance around ever corner, then this probably isn't the manga for you. I loved the slow pace in this manga because you got to see every single little thing that changed the main character, Keito. You also get to see well-developed supporting characters that guide Keito.

In this manga, every little thing is emphasized. You get the full story instead of just a fast-paced typical shoujo manga. If you're into shoujo manga for the hot guys and fast falling in love story lines, I suggest you look somewhere else.

Complete with a slice of life and subtle drama, Cat Street is for readers who enjoy a relaxing story that will move you to tears. Cat Street is emotional, imaginative, and unique. If you enjoy stories that are deep and composed with dedication, then this is definitely a manga you don't want to miss.

T2 - B45 - Manga Blog

Very clueless of me today. Or just very sleepy. I have to learn to sleep earlier. My mom's mad about it too. ._.

Anyways, woke up early to go to Vania's house. Time seems to pass faster there...probably since everyone does things so slow. ._. Or maybe I'm just fast. I can't tell.

Forgot my knitting. Silly me. Pretty yarn though. <3 Very sleepy in Socials. *yawn*. But I like socials. Learning about the French Revolution isn't the most interesting thing in the world, but it's better than most other history subjects. x3 Lunch was relaxing. <3 PE - Gymnastics. Scary. Foods. Test next class. Scary, right? Anyways. I walked home feeling more tired than ever. I dislike school. Yet, apparently, I like learning. Strange, huh? That IB thing. ARGH. Don't know what to write. Going to finish it completely tomorrow.

Fruits Basket

Fruits basket is one of the most recommended must-reads on my list of favourites. It is a sweet tale with romance, comedy, drama, tragedy, and even action. It is a perfect mix for both genders. With enough drama and romance to keep the girls going and enough comedy and action to keep the guys following along too.

It is also a very sad manga at times. There will be times where you just feel really sad because of how well put together the characters are. They draw you into their world. Not all mangas do that (although most of the ones on my favourites list do). It is a lovely tale of desperation and hard decisions.

Yes. It is Slice of Life also. True, it isn't labelled with all these genres, but I must say it could be. The Supernatural is another thing to look out for. If you know anything about Fruits Basket, you would know that a certain someone turns into a mouse and a certain someone turns into a cat...and so on. Notice the trend? Well, it also has to do with the members of the Zodiac which I thought was incorporated really well.

This is one of my Top 10s simply because it is the first manga I have ever read. No kidding. I love Fruits Basket. I loved the beginning, the plot and storyline in the middle, and the end.

I must say...this manga is near flawless. There are a few criticisms that can be made, but I won't mention them. It is a must-read after all.

Quick summary of my day then my manga review. :)

Played some Wii Fit.
Ate out for lunch.
Went grocery shopping.

That's about it. A pretty typical Sunday. And a relaxing calming one at that. Alright. Onto my review. :)

Bloody Monday

Bloody Monday is another one of my favourite psychological reads. Why I like Bloody Monday is simple: it keeps me thinking and wanting more. It's horror that shocks you, but doesn't leave you scared. Instead, it makes you interested.

"Bloody Monday" is the key word for an event. An event that will wipe out Tokyo. Or should anyways. At first it is thought to be a virus invented to kill millions in merely hours, but later in the manga, it is discovered that Bloody Monday involves something much deadlier. Something that cannot possibly have an antidote.

There are many plot twists and character developments in the story. Our main character? Falcon. A genious hacker who helps an organization that is similiar to the FBI. His father just happens to be part of that organization. He and his friends are wrapped up in the situation. Luckily, one of his friends is a top in the country for archery and the other can match national competitors in karate. He has friends in high places, you could say.

The terrorist organization that is plotting Bloody Monday has many plot twists as well. Members of said organizations have interesting names as well. "J", "K", Cain, Abel (Cain and Abel is a hacking program), etc...

Throughout the story, friends are made of the enemy and of strangers. When Bloody Monday (it's actually a Thursday due the following of the Mayan calendar...or something likt that) draws near, Russia also comes. The "bomb" was made in Russia, and they didn't want any bad publicity.

Friends become enemies, enemies become friends. Bloody Monday is a thriller that you don't want to miss reading if you're a manga fan.

Little hint at the ending: Falcon saves the day.

Island

Island is definitely one of my favourite mangas of all time, also my favourite one shot. Well, it's tied with Hotel in the one shot category, but it's still really good.

It's innocent, surprising, sad, and then happy. I also love the art in this manga. It's simply incredible how well put together this one shot is. It's a must read.

Have you ever felt like you were like a frog stuck in a well? Felt like no matter how much you climbed or tried to get out, you couldn't? If so, you can't afford to not read this.

An entire village is surrounded by a wall. A very tall wall. As children, you attempt to get out of the wall. When you're an adult, however, you have already given up with the notion. Why? Well, when you turn 14, you are shown to the top of the wall. You discover than outside of the wall, is only water. Water everywhere you look. You feel hopeless now. Your hopes of escaping the walls are shattered. Why escape when all there is out there is the ocean?

Marue is an intelligent little girl with hopes of leaving the walls. Beside her is her best friend, Aira, a young boy who supports Marue. Together they try to build things so that they can leave the walls of the town. Aira turns 14 first and learns the devastating truth. After that, he stops participating in Marue's ideas of leaving the wall. Marue, still fresh on her ideas, continues to try to get out of the wall.

When she turns 14, her hopes don't die. Instead, she uses her intelligence to theorize something else...

It's a briliant story, one that will always give me food for thought. It's also one of the only mangas that I've ever reread. Since it's so short, it's not hard to reread...but I don't reread most of my one shots. This is one of the exceptions (the other is Hotel). Why? Because the plot is so realistic and at the same time...so brilliant. There's no other word beside 'brilliant' that I can use to describe it.

Just a brief summary of my day before my review. :D

First of all...

Happy Birthday, Rachel! ♥

Mostly stayed on the computer today. Worked on SS ppt and relaxed for a lot of the day. :) I love weekends. It's a shame I have 5 hours of homework to get done tomorrow if I want to relax on Monday. :/Oh well, I need to stay optimistic. Whenever I think I'm stuck in a prison of homework, I always say to myself my favourite Go! Program phrase:

Look at the options!

Hehe, that always cheers me up. Had a nice dinner today and watched a little bit oftelevision. Note to self: Take some pictures. I need some inspiration for NaNoWriMo. No one's doing it with this year. :/ SOB. Not that I really care all that much. No one does it with me anyhow.

So here's my manga review. :)

Kimi wa Petto

The latest addition to my Favourite Manga list. This is a suspenseful, romantic, and heartwarming story that is absolutely a must read...as long as you are mature enough to handle it. The story is Josei, targeted towards women. It's still a read that will keep you wanting for more and more.

The story begins with Sumire, a hard-working and seemingly strict women. She works as a journalist for a news company. One day while returning home, she discovers a 21 year old boy/man (it's borderline both) sleeping in a box. She takes him home and feeds him, pitying the poor guy. The next morning, the guy is still there. He asks her if he can stay. She lets him stay...as her pet. She names him Momo (a common name for a dog.)

The story progresses and their relationship, master and pet, develops. She finds a boyfriend whom she lies about Momo to. Everyone at work and her boyfriend all believe that Momo is her dog. As her relationship with her boyfriend goes deeper, she begins to realize that she misses Momo a whole lot more than she misses her boyfriend.

It's a roller coaster of love. Of patience. And of heart-warming moments. There are indecisive decisions and moments of suspense. This manga is not typical. She doesn't marry the first man she fell in love with even though he likes her back now a few years after she liked him. She undergoes changes and she realizes things about herself that she never did before. That's the difference between Shoujo and Josei.

Shoujo mangas are light romance stories that have obvious endings and static characters. Josei makes you think...a lot and the characters have both weak and strong times as well as an ever changing character. You have a vague idea of what will happen in the end, but you don't know how. You don't know when. It's a lot more...interesting.

The funny thing is, her boyfriend also gets a cat. Happy ending. Something I expected, but all the while enjoyed very much.

There is some level of sexuality, but other than that...it's a must read.

T1 - B18 - Manga Blog

Just a brief review of my day before going on to my manga review. :)

Woke up at around 10am. Went out for dim sum with relatives.

Went shopping. Got eyes checked. Turns out my right eye is too dry and that's the reason why I can't see clearly. Not allowed to wear contacts for a couple of days.

Came home. Had pizza for dinner. Practised piano. Is now on the computer. x3

Dengeki Daisy is a wonderful manga that will leave you in suspense after every chapter.

Teru, the female protagonist always carries around her cellphone with her. The cellphone was given to her by her brother who is no longer with her. In the phone was only one number: Daisy's. Her brother told her to turn to Daisy for help when he was gone and she does. She texts Daisy and is always happier after ever text she receives back.

Daisy is a lot closer to her than she realizes. Kurosaki, the school janitor seems to always be there when Teru needs him. A dark secret looms over Daisy and Teru. Every chapter hints at that dark secret, but you just can't figure out what it is.

The mangaka of this manga is male,which is incredibly surprising since he is able to draw such a detailed manga with a female as the protagonist. It is also why I love this manga so much. The mangaka, although male, seems to have a deep understanding of a young girl's mind. The story is full of mystery, tragedy, and drama. And is definitely a must read.

[I quite like the way I photoshopped several images into one big. I think I'll keep that picture format for further reviews.]

Since we're not supposed to post pictures of ourselves upon the internet, I'll do a Manga Review as a "super blog"...well technically, it's a Manga Blog. I'll also do Anime Blogs when I run out of Manga I want to review. x3

Liar Game is a manga where a lot of money is involved. Lying is essential if you want to win. If you lose, you will go heavily in debt. The protagonist, Nao, is trying to save everyone from debt and at the same time not lose and go into debt herself. She is helped by a genius, Akiyama, and a friend she made through the game, Fukunaga. The story is quite detailed and the calculations done in the manga are carefully planned. If you're looking for a good psychological read, one that will keep you thinking for hours, this is the manga for you. The story is original, you will never find one like it.My favourite game was the second one that was played. The Minority Game. A game that can be easily played in any classroom or group.

Here are the rules:
-One person is picked to choose a question.
-One person has to act as the Counter and not play.
-The question must be a Yes or No question.
-Everyone has to pick Yes or No and put their answer on a sheet of paper that is put into a box.
-When everyone has chosen their answer, the answers are counted by the Counter.
-Whichever group (Yes or No) has fewer people wins. That group moves on while the bigger group is out.
-The game continues until there is only 1 or 2 people left who are the winners.

In the manga, the characters make deals with each other and it's very complicated. It is also in this game that Nao and Akiyama meet Fukunaga who doesn't until later join their side. This manga is a like a game that you are the spectator of. It is a game that keeps you in suspense.

To put it simply, it is one of the best manga out there.
